Why thejedshed?

thejedshed?

People often ask what “thejedshed” means — or how I came up with it.
Well… here’s the story.

This little building you see in the pictures is really just a garage — 25 feet by 25 feet, about 625 square feet. My grandfather built it after World War II with his own hands. It wasn’t fancy, just solid, simple, and honest — like the man himself.

Years later, while watching The Beverly Hillbillies, inspiration struck.
Granny would sit out by the “cement pond” in that old rustic cabin they hauled from the hills of Kentucky (or was it Tennessee?) — and something about it clicked.

Jed Clampett.
A house that looks like a shed.
Jed… shed… the Jed Shed.

And that was it.

The name stuck — and it’s been my nickname for nearly 37 years.
Everyone who knows me knows thejedshed. It’s not just a place — it’s a story, a memory, a little piece of family history wrapped up in wood, nails, and time.

Of course, today it’s the new and improved Jed Shed.
If you browse through the photos, you’ll see what I mean — the gardens, the work, the years of love poured into it. What began as a garage became a home… then a sanctuary… and now, somehow, a part of my identity.

So now you know the meaning of thejedshed.
It’s not just where I live — it’s who I am.
